About

I am Blaž Križnik. I received my degree in architecture from the University of Ljubljana and continued my studies at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design. I earned my Ph.D. in Sociology of Everyday Life from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.

I have worked as a visiting research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona, the Seoul Development Institute, the Seoul National University Asia Center, and as a researcher at the Institute for Spatial Policies in Ljubljana.

I was also a visiting professor at the University of Seoul and Kwangwoon University in Seoul, and served as an associate professor at the Graduate School of Urban Studies, Hanyang University in Seoul.

Currently, I am a guest professor at the Department of Asian Studies, University of Ljubljana, conducting research on collective action, social innovation, and resilient communities in East Asia (CASIE). My research interests include comparative urban studies, social movements, and Korean studies.

My blog compiles different texts which I wrote over the past years for various books, academic journals, magazines and websites. Links to the original sites, if available, are also provided, as well as to the research institutions, where I used to work or continue working.
