I am Blaž Križnik. I graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana and continued my studies at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design. I finished my doctoral study in the sociology of everyday life at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. In my career, I worked as a visiting research fellow or visiting professor at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona, Seoul Development Institute, University of Seoul, Kwangwoon University and Seoul National University Asia Center. I am the co-founder and non-resident research fellow at the Institute for Spatial Policies in Ljubljana.
At the moment I work as an Associate professor at the Graduate School of Urban Studies, Hanyang University in Seoul, where I lead the Sustainable Localities Lab. My research work is focused on comparative urban studies, sociology of urban social movements and Korean studies.
My blog compiles different texts which I wrote over the past years for various books, academic journals, magazines and websites. Links to the original sites, if available, are also provided, and the research institutions, where I used to work or continue working.
